Nevada Concealed Carry Requirements

Introduction

Nevada requires a Concealed Firearm Permit (CFP) for legal concealed carry.  The process includes mandatory in-person training and a sheriff-issued license.

Eligibility

  • ✅ Age 21+ (18 for military)

  • ✅ Nevada resident (non-resident permits available)

  • ✅ No felony convictions

  • ✅ No recent violent misdemeanors

  • ✅ Mentally competent

Required Training

Nevada requires an 8-hour firearms safety course, including:

  • Legal use of deadly force

  • Firearms handling and storage

  • Live-fire qualification

Application Process

  1. Complete Training – From an NV-approved instructor

  2. Apply at County Sheriff’s Office – In person

  3. Submit ID, Proof of Training, Fee

  4. Get Fingerprinted & Photographed

  5. Wait for Processing – Up to 120 days

  • $100–$125

Reciprocity

Nevada CFP is valid in 35+ states.
