Indiana Concealed Carry Requirements

Introduction

Indiana allows permitless carry, but residents can still apply for a Handgun License (LTCH) for reciprocity and certain legal protections.

Eligibility

  • ✅ Age 18+

  • ✅ Indiana resident

  • ✅ No felony convictions

  • ✅ No domestic violence convictions

  • ✅ Mentally competent

Required Training

Indiana does not require training for an LTCH, but it’s strongly recommended.

Application Process

  1. Apply Online – Via the Indiana State Police Handgun Licensing Portal

  2. Schedule Fingerprinting – At approved location

  3. Visit Local Law Enforcement – For application review

  4. Wait for Processing – Typically within 60 days

  • Free (as of July 1, 2021)

Indiana honors all state permits; LTCH is valid in 30+ states.
